The Curia committee on English in the liturgy has issued guidance to complete its recent work on the Mass text:
”Realising how Jesus' words had been distorted by hasty translations of the New Testament, unbalancing our understanding of the holy faith, the holy prayer He so kindly bestowed on us is now to be humbly said as follows:
’Hallowed and, O Gracious Patriarch remote in Heaven,
most holy be your holy Name.
Thy holy Church, thy humble Church, thy venerable Priesthood,
come on Earth as in Heaven she has come.
This day our daily host give us, and graciously forgive us our sins, our
grievous sins, as we forgive those who so unkindly sin against us.
And us not lead into dissent with the gracious Curia.
Deliver us from all immanence
For Rome's will be the kingdom, the power and all wisdom.
From 2011 and for ever:
Our men’".
The committee’s chairman said, “I am sure that you will grow to love this awesome new text and appreciate how it too shows forth expertise and poetry, as does the texts what we have already got you to use.”

I must take exception to the wording of this new translation. In line 4 there is a feminine pronoun which seems truly inappropriate in a proper patriarchal church.

The chair of this committee has taken some exception to this comment, and explains that "we are delighted by using 'She' for the Church.... otherwise we hardly ever have a chance to use that word."
